We are delighted once again to be able to support Anser and Kashi in their service to Pakistan’s Christian children. We have known them for twenty years, both as Administrator and Principal at the Holy Shepherd School in Karachi and then as much loved and respected leaders of the work of Starfish Pakistan. They both have extra-mile initiative and passion to raise the hopes and standards of deprived Christian families, and a fine track record in leadership and achievement. We trust them well and believe their contribution at many levels — in training, monitoring, and in supporting higher ambition — will be welcomed by many of Pakistan’s Christians who know and respect them. Kashi is a brilliant trainer and Anser is well qualified and gifted, a true visionary.

I first met Anser & Kashi in 2013 when they were the Directors of Starfish Pakistan. where Kashi offered a weary traveller a traditional breakfast of Halwa and Poori (Pakistani style Semolina Pudding and Fried Flatbread) in their home Out of our friendship I had the privilege and opportunity to walk along with Anser during his Leadership role and saw him grow and flourish as a leader of vision and purpose, with an attendant capacity to deliver results. Now as both Anser & Kashi embark on a new journey to realise their vision of good quality education for children and empowerment of educators enabling the wider Christian Community to live their lives with dignity and honor , I have great confidence in their abilities, skills and talent and pray for their success on this journey.

I got to know Anser from my first return visit to Lahore in 2010, particularly to see the work of Starfish in Pakistan. This has led to many good memorable years of working together, supporting and growing the work of Starfish Pakistan under the leadership of Anser and Kashi. Isaiah‬ ‭55:8‭-‬9‬ ‭ESV‬‬‬‬‬ [8] For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. [9] For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. In this next step of faith journey with God, it is exhilarating to see His plan, slowly but surely, unfolding for Anser, Kashi and the children. The Word of God above encourages me that He is in control and has a plan, not only for the Javeds but also for the Christian community in Pakistan. It is my privilege and an honour to be part of this dream and plans that the Javeds have embarked on, for their community. I am imagining a 'proud' community of Pakistani Christians, established in their faith and vocation, a firm shining testimony of God's faithfulness. ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭ESV‬‬‬‬‬‬ [11] For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. We have been associated with with Anser and Kashi Javed since 2011. At that time the Javeds were helming Starfish Pakistan as the National Director and Assistant Director of this organisation. It was inspiring witnessing what they were doing for the marginalised christian children of Pakistan in their respective roles. Over the years, as we visited Pakistan and became involved with their work, they became valued friends. We have been truly blest by knowing them and seeing them at work. Now, as the whole family, Dua and Amn included, embark on this new journey to serve their community, we are excited to come alongside them. Devin Scobie has had links with Pakistan through Christian educational charities since 2011 and has served as UK Chairman of Starfish Asia since January 2020. He has known and worked with Anser and Kashi Javed since 2017, especially during Anser's time as National Director for Starfish Asia in Pakistan. He has no hesitation in recommending both as hardworking, dedicated individuals who will work tirelessly to support any project that has the good fortune to have their involvement. In 2016 Devin Scobie was delighted to help arrange for Anser Javed to make a keynote address to a meeting hosted by the Scottish Parliament. Anser and Devin also made a presentation on behalf of Pakistan’s Christians to the then Governor of Punjab in October 2019.
